Invisable Fence, Will It Keep Your Dog Safe

!±8± Invisable Fence, Will It Keep Your Dog Safe

Keep your dog safe while on your property is out there is a major concern for any dog owner. Invisable Fences are designed to leave your dog on your garden without spending much money on a fence to stop physical. However, it seems that the fear out in the yard and went to look for your dog does not respond to calls, investment in physical barrier to make the cheap in comparison. Invisible fences are designed to keep your dog on your humanproperty.

Basically there are two invisable fence designs. All invisible fences use a wire that is buried along the parameter of the area that you want to confine your dog to. This wire acts as an antennae and is attached to a transmitter the produces a radio frequency. The special dog collar carries a receiver that responds to the transmitter's frequency when it comes within range of the antennae. Invisable fence systems that use electronic stimulation respond by giving the dog a warning tone then if that is ignored it is followed an electronic correction. The second type of invisible fence system uses a citronella spray instead of an electronic stimulation. It also uses a tone warning as the dog and collar approach the property parameter and antennae. Irregardless of which invisable fence system used you will need to train your dog properly to react to the chosen invisible fence system.

Invisable fence conditioning and training takes about 30 days to properly accomplish. It requires you to spend about 45 minutes each day carefully working with your dog. Depending on the dogs personality it may require additional conditioning. It should be noted that some dogs are not suited to invisible fencing systems. Citronella systems appear to have a higher failure rate than those that use electronic stimulation. In addition many dogs can condition themselves to both citronella spray and electronic stimulation allowing them to quickly run through the parameter stimulation zone making the system useless. Obviously invisable fence systems are not fool proof.

In addition invisible fence systems have several more flaws that make them less than optimum for protecting your dog and keeping them on your property. The most serious of these is that while your dog may stay within the confines of the invisable fence it does not keep out stray dogs, wildlife and other threats to your dog. There has been more than one report of dogs being attacked and killed by stray dogs or wild animals while within an invisable fence system.

Invisible fence systems are very popular however they are limited in their ability to protect your dog from outside threats. A better alternative to an invisable fence is a physical restraint like a fence or dog run. While building a fence around the property may be more expensive than an invisible fence it does a much better job of protecting your dog.
